Day and Date: Thur, Fri, Sat, Sun. July 12-15, 2012.
Place: Lake Sisikiyou, CA.

This year, we tried doing a three-day four-night Thursday-Sunday camping versus our normal Fri-Sun. Its amazing how much difference an extra day makes - you tend to forgot more about the world you live in every day.

Here are some of the highlights from the summary email from GENCO Chairman - with names removed:

First of all, I want to say a heartfelt THANK YOU and congratulations to the camping committee for the job very well done. This was totally new kind of camping experience for me and I can bet everyone enjoyed all three days.

Some of the highlights I want to share with GENCO team:

Location-location-location: Great panoramic view of Lake Siskiyou and majestic Mt. Shasta. Even though about 4.5 hours drive for most us but it was worth it.  Weather was perfect for camping upper 80s.

Three day camping was new experiment and feedback was to keep it this way for future camping. This gives 2 full day to relax and enjoy camping & company of friends. It was nice that everyone other than 3 families were able to join on Thursday.

Lunch for Friday & Saturday was delivered from nearby Round table and Subway. Superb idea and great effort of organizing. This helped in great manner for everyone else to relax and join with all the group activities. No one was left at camp site for lunch prep.

Trip to Burney falls (27miles oh no 54 miles from site J) was well planned. Breathtaking views of Burney falls and then hauling the beer and  sandwiches to falls base. Enjoying the lunch while sitting on rocks with water fall mist cooling you off.

Hike around the lake and then enjoying star gazing in clear night  while lying down at Marina reminded me of lake Alpine trip.

Lot of kids activities: Splash zone in the lake: slides, jump house, trampoline in lake  was awesome. I’m sure all the kids had blast.

Some of us also swam in the lake all the way to middle of lake but had to give up, age factor came in :-).

Even on the last day, seven families went to Mt. Shasta base and others enjoyed the caverns on trip back to home.

Bakra dinner and Fajita dinner was delicious.

About total 70 persons including 30 kids was a great crowd.

Kudos to the camping committee and volunteers for making it fun full and a memorable camping.
